I am a Professor of Mathematics at the School of Mathematics of Universidad Industrial de Santander (Bucaramanga, Colombia). My mathematical interests include noncommutative algebra, Hopf algebras, and tensor categories.
Previously, I was a Postdoctoral Fellow (2023–2025) at the Department of Mathematics, Universidad de los Andes (Bogotá, Colombia), where I worked with Dr. César Galindo. I obtained my doctoral (2023), master's (2019), and bachelor's (2016) degrees in Mathematics at Universidad Nacional de Colombia (Bogotá, Colombia). My doctoral advisors were Dr. Chelsea Walton (Rice University, USA) and Dr. Armando Reyes (Universidad Nacional de Colombia).
As a Fulbright Scholar, I carried out a one-year research stay (2021–2022) at Rice University (Houston, TX, USA) funded by a Fulbright Visiting Student Researcher Scholarship. I also held a Teaching Assistant Fellowship ("Beca Asistente Docente") at Universidad Nacional de Colombia from 2017 to 2023.
I have co-organized several academic events:
[2024] Geometry Seminar [with Mikhail Malakhaltsev and Andrés Rubiano] at Universidad de los Andes.
[2023] Algebra Seminar [with Juan Camilo Arias and César Galindo] at Universidad de los Andes.
[2021-2023] SAC² - Algebra Seminar [with Armando Reyes] at Universidad Nacional de Colombia.
[2022] Coloquio de Matemáticas por Estudiantes at Universidad Nacional de Colombia.
I have experience in data science and programming (C++, Python, SQL, Ruby) and contribute actively to Moovit, OpenStreetMap, Wikipedia ES and Wikipedia EN. My hobbies include amateur programming, photography, cycling, and traveling.
